Data Science is the process of analysing large volume of data(i.e., big data) to predict outcomes for a problem statement. This analysis helps the machine to become intelligent enough to perform the tasks. For that it actually employs techniques and theories which are drawn from many fields such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, and Information Science and all.
Okay, why we need data science?
In the earlier days, we have only less amount of data in business sectors and other institutions. Therefore those data can be easily stored in the excel sheet in a structured format. Right?
But now as you know the size of the data is kept increasing in every field and it is also available even in semi-structured and unstructured formats also. So to analyze these kind of big data we need an advance tool. This is where we are in the need of data science technique.
Let’s get into some of the applications of data science.
All the AI recommendation systems are actually work based on data science. For example, Whenever we are watching any videos on youtube they will collect our data and therefore, in the next day when we open the app again….based on the collected data they will provide suggestions/recommendations for the related videos. Right?
Likewise, if we are search for any product in the internet/online shopping portal then the related advertisements will be displayed on the screen. These are all possible because of the insights they are getting by analyzing the large volume of collected data.
Some other examples that comes under data science are, smart watches and fraud detection applications and all. These applications also work by analysing the data collected from the user.Okay!!
