Now let me explain to you the structure of a neuron.
And how it is connected with another neuron.
Imagine a tree with lot of branches and it is having a trunk and it has roots similar to that the neurons are also having branching like structure called dendrites it is receiving data from the previous axon or previous output ( neuron) and it is coming to the cell body otherwise called as SOMA where information has been processed and giving the output through axon , it is lengthier than the dendrites . This branches dendrites similar to the branching of a tree ,trunk is similar to the cell body or SOMA then here we are having the output which is received by the axon similar to the root of a tree. I think it is clear.
Now this is giving the output and the output is sent to thenext neuron. How this neuron and the next neuron is is connected. It is connected with synapse , this synapse is getting the electrical impulses from axon sending to the next neuron. Like this millions of neurons are connected and it form a neural network. In my example where I am touching the hot/ cold pot the neuron sensory neuron which receives the input, senses and sending to the next neuron and next till it reaches brain. There are millions of neurons connecting together using synapse and sending the information. Like that from brain it is sending back the output that I have to pull my finger through the motor neuron that is also passes through millions of neurons then I am pulling my finger. In the brain there are interneuron are present which is processing. This millions of sensory neurons, processing interneurons in the brain sending the output to the motor neuron connected together to form a neural network. You may be wondering why we have the biology class in the AI course.
Let me explain. Man always try to imitate what is existing in nature. Doing this he created so many wonderful things which are useful to human beings.
Man created aeroplane seeing the birds. He created ship by seeing fish. Now we are trying imitate the neural network which is artificial neural network. That is the purpose of learning Biology. This is fundamental science. You have to learn. This will be a great use for you going to higher studies. This is the basics for AI.
