In this video we are going to see about an another ethical issue. that is, biased AI machines. For example, take a look at the most famous voice assistants like google assistant, Amazon Alexa, Apple Siri and Microsoft Cortana or anything else. All are using only female voices at first. Right?
Why not those are in the male voices?
It’s actually a gender bias.
An another example for gender bias is, when we are searching for a shirt in the internet, generally it shows only male shirts not the female ones.
If you want to show the female ones then we have to mention that we want see the female shirts.
If you are generally search for a shirt it shows only the male shirts. That’s again a gender bias.
Actually here a machine does not have any biases on its own. It only transfer from the developer to the machine. Yes, it’s all in the developer’s hand.
Therefore, in order to reduce these kind of bias/discrimination in any AI machine, the developer should be very careful when feeding instructions to the machine.
Let’s recap,
Biased AI machines.
Machines don’t have any moral values on their own, it’s actually according to the developer. If the developer had any biased thinking while creating AI machine then that will obviously reflect on the machine also.
For example, mostly voice assistants are available in only female voices and in another case when we searching for shirt in the internet, it shows only male shirts. These are all gender biases. Right?
Those kind of things shouldn’t happen.
Therefore, it’s all in the developer’s hand. The developer shouldn’t have any biased opinion while developing AI machines. Then only we can eradicate these kind of biased thing in technology. Okay!!

So far in “Ethics of AI we have dicussed what kind of moral issue might arise while taking critical decision and after that we have discussed that there is a privacy issue for our data when we are using AI technology and atlast we have seen that AI machine might be a biased one if the developer had biased thinking.
So these kind of ethical issues might arise when we are using AI technology.
